The On-Stage Design System is a comprehensive collection of reusable components, UI elements, and design guidelines. It's built to ensure visual and functional consistency across Wix products and teams—supporting a unified user experience and faster development cycles.
As part of the On-Stage design system team, our role was to set the standard and ensure alignment across all Wix products. We weren’t just creating components; we were defining the rules and principles behind them. We functioned as the design gatekeepers—reviewing, refining, and validating new additions to make sure they upheld the system’s values of clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
Our process was deeply collaborative. We worked closely with product designers, frontend developers, and product managers to understand needs and challenges from across the organization. Every new component began with research—market trends, user feedback, data, and competitor benchmarks—before moving into structured design exploration and documentation. Once a component was part of the system, we continuously monitored its usage and performance, ensuring it stayed relevant and effective as products evolved.
In my role as a senior product designer, I led the creation and maintenance of the system’s core principles. I was involved at every stage of the product lifecycle—helping teams translate requirements into scalable design solutions, crafting accessible specifications, and ensuring design intent was carried through to implementation.
I took ownership of the full design cycle: from defining the problem space through research and analysis, to hands-on UI work and product reviews that ensured the highest standards of execution.
This work not only strengthened our products visually and functionally—it changed how teams worked. By introducing a clear, flexible, and collaborative design system, we significantly reduced duplication, shortened design and development cycles, and empowered teams to deliver better user experiences with greater confidence and speed.
